Two months have already passed since the last release of SmarterPath 2.0! Version 2.1 has some helpful enhancements that we would like to explain in more detail. They are: export to excel (reporting), a new language, and the course calendar.
The course calendar was updated for all learners and now shows the following entries:
- a learner’s enrolled courses with due dates
- a learner’s enrolled ILT sessions
- public courses with fixed due dates
In addition to that a learner will now find all information for the calendar entry in the pop-up window. If a learner is enrolled in an ILT session he/she will find all session information, such as a link to the user profile of the instructor and a link to the course itself. Therefore the learner is able to navigate directly to the course if he/she wants to withdraw or enroll in another session. All calendar entries include the option to download the appointment into your personal calendar.
Reporting export to .csv
After downloading your .csv file please follow these steps in order to open this .csv in Excel: Convert CSV to Excel: open or import CSV files into Excel worksheets
Please give us feedback! We will continue to improve the export in upcoming releases so we are happy to hear your suggestions. NOTE: we will be removing the old reporting section in a future 2017 release.
SCORM lesson completion
When uploading a SCORM asset you can enter a time when the user will be able to mark this lesson as completed. NOTE: This is an interim solution. The goal for the next release is to read the completion status from the SCORM file (if applicable). We are currently evaluating the best option for the variety of SCORM files that our customers use.
SmarterPath goes French
SmarterPath is now available in three different languages: English, German, and French. SmarterPath’s language will be adjusted based on the user’s Jive setting. For all other languages SmarterPath will default to English.
- “Learner must complete lessons in order” is now checked per default when creating a course
- Send notification to the person who is made an instructor of an ILT session and an owner of a course
- Validation for all ILT sessions
- It is not possible to enter two session at the same time in the same venue
- Mobile view improvements
- Bigger text field for course description
One regularly-requested feature that will be included in the next release is the integrated Jive Search. This will allow users to use Jive’s search function to locate SmarterPath courses. We are also currently working on a redesign of SmarterPath’s user interface. While this will be an ongoing project throughout the year, our goal is to present a beta version at the Jive World 2017 conference in May.
