The Challenge
Premier Farnell use Jive to administer an international Design and Engineering community with over 450,000 users who need information in 10+ languages. As a global community Premier Farnell wanted to enable users to be able to communicate in their own language. Providing native language content was critical and making it easy to find through custom navigation even more so.
The Solution
Using the UI Editor, one of the products in our Translation Management Suite, PremierFarnell was able to insert translation through the user interface and customise the Jive navigation in an efficient and effective way so that all of the functions – menus, tabs, buttons, etc. – within the environment reflected all of the various languages of their users.
The Result
The UI Editor enabled PremierFarnell to:
- manage system-wide translations for a variety of languages without hiring additional resources
- complete real-time translations within Jive in a timely and cost-effective way without deploying releases or requiring users to install additional plugins
- see what is being translated within the context of the UI, allowing changes to translated customizations to be made on-the-fly
